Employer In Residence: O'Melveny @ Soft Lounge

GW Law’s Employer In Residence (“EIR”) program is an informal way for our students (especially first years) to mingle with a variety of employers. This program is held every week during the semester on Wednesdays, from 11:45 Am to 1:45 PM, in the first floor lobby (Soft Lounge).

Employer in Residence is a great vehicle for students to have access to practicing attorneys and for opportunities to ask them questions about what their practice entails — and — also enables students to practice networking and informational interviewing skills in a more casual setting.

This week’s employer will feature O’Melveny (https://www.omm.com/). Current GW Law students from all class years are welcome.

Cover Letter Workshop @ Career Center

Does the thought of drafting a cover letter seem overwhelming? It doesn’t have to be. Our cover letter workshop breaks down each paragraph of the cover letter with a straightforward approach.

Wondering what “tailoring” your cover letter actually means? We’ll show you how to tailor your resume for the most impact with employers.

This workshop is most effective when it’s interactive! Bring your laptop, your resume, and if applicable, a job posting you are interested in to get the most out of the workshop. Plan to stay and work for the hour. At minimum, you’ll leave with a strong framework for your cover letter. If you work hard, you may even have enough time to get your entire letter fully drafted!
