Cover Letter Workshop @ Career Center Resource Library
Oct 25 @ 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm
Cover Letter Workshop @ Career Center Resource Library

Does the thought of drafting a cover letter seem overwhelming? It doesn’t have to be. Our cover letter workshop breaks down each paragraph of the cover letter with a straightforward approach.

Wondering what “tailoring” your cover letter actually means? We’ll show you how to tailor your resume for the most impact with employers.

This workshop is most effective when it’s interactive! Bring your laptop, your resume, and if applicable, a job posting you are interested in to get the most out of the workshop. Plan to stay and work for the full 45 minutes. At minimum, you’ll leave with a strong framework for your cover letter. If you work hard, you may even have enough time to get your entire letter fully drafted!

This workshop provides and overview of the most commonly used resources law students use to find summer and post graduate opportunities. While job postings in CORE are a good starting point, there are several other resources available for internships, externships, and post-graduate opportunities.

We’ll focus on tips for setting up job alerts, resources for job postings and opportunities with the federal government, public interest opportunities, and upcoming job fairs.
